Examples of Our Work - Before & After
Click for Finished Projects
In instances where the majority of the surface area is in good condition, the affected stain, flaking, scratch, gouge, bleached or discolored area is where I execute a blended repair. There are many potential adhesion difficulties in working with the existing finish. I offer a wide range of materials and the skills to draw from for a successful outcome. Often the right approach is to strip and sand off the residual older finsish down the the bare wood. This is the refinishing option. I may customize your stain base and also layer it in between coats of varnish for an interesting polished effect. You may want less color to enhance the effect of grain presentation, or perhapsmore color but maintaining a textured appearance wood feel. My expertise lies in using the correct materials to bring your vision to life.

Redwood walls, pine walls
These photos represent walls, ceilings, window and door trim. Fireplace mantle as well as built in shelves in older homes where the original finish is over 30+years old. Showing discoloration, dull, dirt, scratches, gouges, holes throughout. There is much disintegration of existing finish presenting throughout with a dull waxy cosmetic coverup over many deeply stained raised areas presenting a strong musty, smokey odor. Lifting entirely the older finish and deeply sanding through the discoloration and damage to the bare wood. Filling all the holes and deep gouges. Customizing the color to achieve the correct decorative look and replacing the finish with multiple coats of custom varnish for years of long lasting wear resistant protection. |

Blended Spot Repairs
The lighter colored wood is a maple with a bleached, raised appearance to the surface. It is a large built in cabinet with shelves in very good condition with this exeption. This was a blended repair.
The photo with the large greenish, white ringmarks and stains on a redish brown surface along with the photo of the bartop with no stains is this repair.
This antique mahogany bar has an older rustic look which the owner wanted to maintain. The problem was with the water marks. The older distressed finish was no longer providing adequate barrier to moisture. My blended repair was to remove the undesirable stains and seal my repair and the surrounding deteriorating surface with a wear resistant seal, yet maintaining the distressed antique quality to the piece. |
